As very low amount of bottles are being recycled, most bottles we find today are manufactured from virgin materials – fossil fuels. This results in producing more

greenhouse gases; as higher amount of greenhouse gases are produced when PET bottles are made of virgin material than when they are made of plastic resin or recycled material

In addition, even the transportation of these bottles also create pollution; in New York City alone, an estimated of 3,800 tons of global warming pollution was released into the atmosphere from transportation of bolted water from Europe. In California, about 2,500 tons of global warming pollution was created from shipping 18 million gallons of bottled water from Fiji (2006). To help make our world a better and greener place is easy – eliminate the source of those pollutions!
